1. What is Hyperhidrosis?
Primary hyperhidrosis has no known cause. There are no underlying medical problems and it is not a side effect of medications. It affects particular parts of the body most commonly the hands, feet underarms or the face/head and usually affects both sides. It sometimes can affect the chest or groin areas too. Many patients have more than one part of the body affected. It usually begins in childhood or adolescence and sometimes runs in families.
2. My experience.
Since I was younger I have always had sweaty palms especially if I hold my phone or the tv remote. My dad suffers with it to and so does both of my brothers and sister. It is so annoying! Especially after an interview or holding hands with a new partner. It makes you so aware of your hands. When I used to get my acrylic nails done at the shop, I use to dread it. Because I was always thinking can they feel the cold sweat. I use to have to wash my hands before so then it would kind of calm down. Last year I decided to get my own gel nail set, so I can now do my own nails at home. I do have anxiety so I don’t know if this affects it more, I’m sure it probably does.
I don’t sweat anywhere else excessively for no reason, like my hands though. Even If I’m not feeling anxious I will still have clamy hands. So when I was asked if I would like to try this Iontoderma machine I was like YES! Since I have had this machine I have used it 3 times and it has started to work. Not completely just yet, but I have used it only 3 times. It has stopped when I’m just sitting there watching tv, I have noticed.
Even when I use to write on my laptop I used to leave the silver part with sweat on it. It really was annoying! Now I haven’t had that problem. I defintely can’t wait to use it some more and not have to worry about holding hands with someone.

4.What you get?
Electrodes & Connectors
Soft Protection Mats
5. How you use the machine.
You put the electrodes & connector in the plastic briefcase and then you put the soft protection mats in. You plug it all in (It comes with the right plug for your country). You set it to it’s lowest voltage which is 12. You then add water (4 cups) which seems like a lot but really isn’t. Then you place your hands in from the bottom in first, to your fingertips last. You wait 10 minutes. I usually watch friends or something, it does get rather boring! I was a bit worried of water and electrics at first but now it’s just boring. It does have a slight tingling feeling and like tiny little needles over your hand, well I think anyway. It doesn’t hurt one bit! It just makes my hands itch for some reason.
After you have waited 10 minutes you dry your hands. Unplug the banana plugs and switch the black and red plug around. You can then put your hands back in for another 10 minutes.
Then it’s complete! So simple. You just need to empty the water and dry the mats and repack it. There is a video here (at the bottom of the page)
You can also use it on your feet, but I don’t need to do that.
